A minimal top-up payment for the difference might be needed as there could be a difference between the initial payment and the payment requested by JPJ. Alternatively, you can choose to make a refund for the renewal instead.

This is solely because of the:

• differences in vehicle categorization offered by JPJ (saloon vs non-saloon).
• differences in road tax cost for engine capacity (CC) for your car make and model.
