The accepted payment methods are Setel Wallet, CardTerus (debit/credit card), and Family Wallet. If Setel Wallet is selected, please make sure you have a sufficient balance to prevent any inconvenience when making a payment.

How do I add a new vehicle for Street parking?

Yes.
You can enable more than one vehicle under your Setel account. However, only one vehicle can use automated parking at a time.
For example: You have enabled two cars for automated parking in your Setel account. After car #1 entered a car park, car #2 cannot use automated parking in your Setel account anymore.
 
We recommend the primary driver of a vehicle to enable automated parking in their own Setel account.

What if I own more than one vehicle, can I enable all of them in my Setel account?

A session might have been created because the license plate reader detected the wrong car plate number or the vehicle is being used by your friends/family. Upon leaving the car park, your Setel Wallet will be charged because the vehicle is registered under your account.

How do I check my active street parking session and see how much time is left?

Normal zone allows users to park up to the maximum parking time (e.g. 10 hours).
 
Zon Parkir 2 Jam only allows users to park for up to a maximum of 2 hours. The restriction rule was implemented at several busy areas that are known as “hot zones” within the councils. The location names, parking rates, and minimum and maximum charges differ by councils. You can refer to our <a href="https://help.setel.com/article/10184517943949/what-are-the-council-rules-for-on-street-parking">council rules</a> article for more information.

What is the difference between the normal zone and the Zon Parkir 2 Jam?

Yes.
There is no minimum amount required in your Setel Wallet to enter the car park. However, before exiting, please ensure you have sufficient balance in your Setel Wallet for your parking fee to be deducted.
 
Rest assured, your parking is still valid/active until you exit the car park. The Setel app will notify you if you have an insufficient balance in your wallet. Please make sure you turn on the notification to get notified.

I have a low balance in my Setel Wallet, can I still enter the parking location?

Yes.
You can extend your parking duration anytime at the active parking session card page. Tap Extend Duration at the countdown timer. You will then be prompted to authorise the transaction.
To avoid any issues, we will send you a notification 15 minutes before your booking expires as a reminder. To ensure timely delivery of these alert messages, please ensure that notifications from the Setel app are enabled.

⚠️ Once your parking duration has expired, you will no longer be allowed to extend your parking duration. You will need to book a new parking session.

Can I extend my parking duration for Street parking?

Unfortunately, no.
Our QR code is dynamic and will change every 10 seconds for security reasons. Any screenshots will be invalid which will result in a failed entry/exit.

Can I use screenshots of my friends or family’s Setel QR code?

All regulations regarding pricing, non-working days, and public holidays/non-operational hours will be as per the local authorities.
For example, on Sundays when the parking is free, you will see the relevant prompt in the app.
The same will apply if you are trying to book late in the evening as parking is free after 7:30 PM.

How do I use the Street parking feature in the Setel app?

Yes. Your parking is still valid/active until you exit the car park.
However, you will need to top up your wallet to pay for the parking fee before exiting.

What if my parking fee has exceeded my Setel Wallet balance, will the parking session still be valid/ active?

You can select your Setel Wallet or your credit/debit card as the payment method. Please ensure you have sufficient balance before exiting to avoid any issues.
We highly recommend enabling auto top-up. With auto top-up, you will never experience a low wallet balance as your Setel Wallet will be automatically topped up when the balance falls below the specified amount.

How can I pay for my automated parking with the Setel app?

Setel automated parking provides a convenient and seamless parking experience. All you have to do is enter a parking area and Setel will track your parking session.

You will receive a push notification when your QR parking session has started.
To receive the notification, you will need to enable notifications for the Setel app.

How do I know my QR parking session has started?

Our cameras are smart, but sometimes they can get a little confused. This issue may happen due to several factors including (but not limited to):

Non-standardised JPJ car plate number
</li>

Shiny letters or plates causing glare
</li>
<li>
Letters on the plate are located too close together, especially with narrower characters like “1”
</li>

Why was my car plate undetected at the car park entry/exit?

No.
We don’t check plate numbers so registration is not needed. You can use your Setel QR code instantly with your registered Setel account.

Do I need to register my vehicle in the Setel account to use QR parking?

To end your active parking session, simply show the Setel QR code to the QR code reader at the boom gate. Once successfully scanned, your parking fees will be from your selected payment method.

Once it has been confirmed a double charge happened, you will get the refund within 3 to 5 business days.

To enable automatic location, you will need to turn on your GPS and allow the app to have location access.
Once your GPS is enabled, the app will automatically display the nearest available parking locations.

Zon Parkir 2 Jam only allows users to park for up to a maximum of 2 hours with a 1-hour quarantine time. You can only start a new parking session after the quarantine time ends.

Can I extend parking or add a new street parking session after using the Zon Parkir 2 Jam?

What should I do if I have exited the car park but the parking timer is still running?

Check your device’s notification settings and ensure that notifications from the Setel app are allowed.

Why didn’t I receive a notification when entering a parking location?

We are sorry for the unpleasant experience. This issue might happen because the license plate reader was unable to detect the car plate number or there was a system disruption while the parking system was trying to communicate with us.
 
In the meantime, you can use QR parking.

I have enabled my vehicle to use the parking feature, but why I don't see the active parking session on my Setel app?

Setel automated parking is a cashless and ticketless parking payment system that uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) to scan vehicle plate numbers and pay parking fees seamlessly.

How to disable Setel automated parking?

The account that enables the vehicle for automated parking will be charged. A vehicle can only be enabled for automated parking on a single device at a time.

Which account will be charged if a vehicle is registered under 2 or more different accounts?

No.
In order to enable the vehicle on your Setel account, you will need to disable the vehicle on the other Setel account.

Can I enable the same vehicle with different Setel accounts?

Your active parking session will end automatically when the countdown timer expires and your parking duration ends.

How do I end my active street parking session?

The payment will be charged based on the selected payment method in the Setel app. Currently, the accepted payment methods are Setel Wallet and CardTerus (debit/credit card).
If Setel Wallet is selected, please ensure you have a sufficient balance before exiting to avoid any issues.

What payment method can I use to pay for QR parking?

Sorry, no cancellations or refunds are allowed once the payment is authorised.
Setel does not handle any refunds for Street Parking.

Can I get a refund for Street parking?

To end your active parking session, simply exit the parking location. Once you have driven through the exit barrier gate, your parking fees will automatically be deducted from Setel, based on your selected payment method.
