You can view your digital road tax on the MyJPJ app within 24 hours upon approval from JPJ.
However, in case of any technical glitches from the MyJPJ app, you can go to the successful payment page of the Setel app and tap on the View Receipt button to view the receipt.

How long will it take to get my road tax on the MyJPJ app?

At the moment, we only cater for 12 months of road tax renewal.

Can I opt for a 6 months road tax renewal instead of 12 months?

Unfortunately, we are unable to process road tax renewal for E-Hailing vehicles at the moment due to JPJ restrictions. You will need to walk into JPJ to renew the road tax for said vehicle.

Can I renew my road tax for a vehicle that is registered with E-Hailing?

What can I do if the engine capacity (CC) shown for my vehicle is incorrect?

Road tax renewal follows the single transaction limit of your account.
The single transaction limit is:

<li>RM200 on unsupported Android versions regardless of eKYC status (not applicable for iOS).</li>
<li>RM500 for users who have not done eKYC.</li>
<li>RM2000 for users who have done eKYC.</li>

Is there a transaction limit for paying road tax renewal with Setel?

Yes, you can renew your road tax if you are not blacklisted by the Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) / police.
If you have pending summons but you are not blacklisted, you can still renew your road tax.

Can I renew my road tax if I have blacklisted summons?

How much does Setel charge for physical road tax renewal?

At present, this feature only extends to private vehicles (cars and motorcycles) owned by Malaysians.
Other vehicles (commercial, company owned) will come later.

Can I renew the road tax for a company-owned car?

You can keep a copy of the digital road tax (obtained from the MyJPJ app) so that you can show the road tax when requested by the authorities.
However, even if you do not have a copy of it, it is not against the law. The authorities can check for the details on their gadgets.

What if the car that I’m driving is not registered under my name?

You will need to meet all of the criteria below to renew your road tax:

<li>The motor insurance policy hasn’t expired.</li>
<li>The road tax is at most 2 months away from expiring. </li>
<li>The vehicle is less than 20 years old.</li>
<li>You are between 18-75 years old. </li>
<li>The vehicle has not been blacklisted.</li>
<li>The vehicle is not used for e-hailing purposes.</li>

<li>differences in road tax cost for engine capacity (CC) for your car make and model.</li>

Why do I need to top up or make a refund?

Where can I get the refund form for road tax?

Once the refund form is submitted successfully, it should take no longer than 14 business days to be reflected in your preferred bank account.
