First, make sure that your Setel app is at least v1.109.0. You will then need to perform e-KYC verification to verify your identity and invite 1 person to activate the Family Wallet. You can find out more about e-KYC on our wallet upgrade page.

Upon activation, owners can directly add existing Setel users as members to their Family Wallet.

  • Members will receive an inbox message as a notification that they were added to the Family Wallet (members do not need to go to the inbox to accept invites anymore).
  • The owner will see the member’s name on the home screen and also a message about successfully adding members.

Non-Setel users

For non-Setel users, the owner can help them create an account. Just tap on Create next to the member's name.

The member’s name and phone number will be auto-populated. The owner just needs to tap on Create account.

Once the owner taps on Create account, an SMS will be sent to the member with a referral link.

Once the member tap the link, they will be prompted to download the Setel app and proceed with the simplified registration process.

Once registration is complete, the member will receive a push notification, an inbox message, and a message on the app homepage about being added to a Family Wallet.

The member’s default payment method will be set to the Family Wallet for fuel purchases and payments with the QR code.

While waiting for the member’s account to activate. The owner can also delete the invitation by tapping on the 3 dots and then Delete account.
