How do I top up using vouchers?

Please ensure the following before redeeming your voucher.

The voucher code is entered correctly. Our vouchers are case-sensitive so a zero "0", lowercase "o" or uppercase "O" will all register differently.</li>

The voucher has not been redeemed before. If your vouchers are not bought from official sources, they may have been redeemed before being sold.</li>

The voucher is a Setel-approved voucher. Remember to make sure the voucher is applicable for Setel before purchasing. You can usually find this information in the terms and conditions of the voucher.</li>

We recommend buying Setel vouchers from the <a href="https://www.setel.com/PETRONAS-Shop/product/setel-voucher">PETRONAS Shop</a> for a higher value per voucher (up to RM 300 per voucher) or for commercial drivers, you can consider <a href="https://help.setel.com/article/17534133689741/what-documents-do-i-need-to-register-for-a-cardless-petronas-smartpay-account">applying for Cardless SmartPay</a>.
If you still cannot redeem your top-up voucher, you might have exceeded your daily top-up redemption limit.
You can only redeem up to 4 top-up vouchers a day. The limit will reset every day at 8.00 AM (GMT+8). This limit is only applicable to vouchers that add to your wallet balance.

How do I enable auto top-up?

The convenience fee is calculated at 1% of the top-up amount.
For example, if you top up RM100, an additional RM1 fee will be added, making the total amount charged to your credit card RM101.
Do note that calculated amounts with more than 2 decimals will follow these basic rounding.

Before we process the top-up you will see the convenience fee listed in the transaction summary.

If your credit card top-up fails (not processed) or cancelled before being processed, you will not be charged the 1% convenience fee. The fee is only applied once the top-up is successfully processed. However, if the top-up goes through and is later refunded, the convenience fee will not be refunded.

Unfortunately, the 1% convenience fee is non-refundable even if the top-up is reversed or refunded. This is because the fee covers the transaction cost incurred when processing the credit card payment.

Generally, top-up refunds are processed within 14 business days but different banks have different procedures.

Why is my top-up refund not showing up?

You can use the Setel Wallet to purchase fuel or items at Kedai Mesra. Purchasing top-ups, Touch 'n Go reload vouchers, or paying utility bills are not supported.

What can I buy/purchase using the Setel app?

The top-up was considered a failed transaction because it timed out from waiting for a response from the bank (the response might be delayed up to 30 minutes or more).
However, we will still wait for a response to see if the transaction was successful. If the transaction is successful, the top-up transaction will be reflected in your Setel Wallet and a push notification will be sent.
You can verify if a top-up transaction was successful by checking in with your bank. If a deduction has been made, your top-up will reflect on your Setel Wallet later.

Why was the top-up processed when it failed just now?

You will not be able to top up if your wallet limit has been reached. The standard wallet limit is RM 500 while the maximum wallet limit is RM 5000.
