If you have made a payment to the wrong account number:

If you have overpaid your bill (for example, your bill is RM45.50 but you pay RM46.00):

  1. The extra amount (RM0.50) will usually be carried forward and deducted from your next bill, subject to the biller’s policy.

Important notes:

  1. If incorrect details (such as an account number or phone number) are entered but the information corresponds to a valid account, the payment will be processed successfully, and you should contact Setel Customer Service or the respective biller with your transaction history as proof of payment.

Scheduled payments

What is a scheduled payment?

Scheduled payments allow you to set up a bill payment in advance, so your bill can be paid automatically on your selected payment date. You can choose the biller, payment amount, payment method, and payment schedule based on your needs within the Setel app.

How do I set up a scheduled payment?

  1. Go to Bills Payment in the Setel app.
  2. Select biller and enter your account number.
  3. Choose scheduled payment to proceed with set up.
  4. Enter the payment amount.
  5. Choose your payment frequency, start date and end date.
  6. Select your preferred payment method.
  7. Review your payment details and confirm the setup.
  8. Complete the initial payment successfully to save and enable your scheduled payment.

Note: Your scheduled payment will only be saved and enabled after the initial payment is successfully completed. If the payment fails, the scheduled payment setup will not be saved or enabled. You will need to retry the payment and set up the scheduled payment again.

When will my scheduled payment be processed?

Your scheduled payment will be processed automatically on the scheduled payment date based on the frequency you selected.

Please ensure that your selected payment method is available and has sufficient funds when the payment is due.

What happens if my scheduled payment fails?

If your scheduled payment fails, the bill will not be paid for that cycle and you will be notified of the failed transaction. You can make the payment manually through Bills Payment.

Your scheduled payment settings will remain active, and the payment will be automatically processed again in the next scheduled cycle based on your existing settings.

How do I edit my scheduled payment?

You can edit your scheduled payment from the scheduled payment listing in the Setel app. For now, you can only edit the payment amount and payment method. Other details, such as payment frequency, start date, and end date, cannot be changed after the scheduled payment is set up.

Note: We aims to enhance this feature in future releases to allow users to edit more payment details, making it easier and more convenient to manage your scheduled payments.

How do I cancel or delete my scheduled payment?

You can cancel or delete your scheduled payment from the scheduled payment section in the Setel app. Once deleted, the payment will no longer be processed according to the scheduled plan.

Note: Deleting a scheduled payment will not affect any payments that have already been successfully completed.

What happens if my bill amount changes before the payment date?

Your scheduled payment will be processed based on the payment amount you set when setting up the schedule. If the amount due is different, the payment may not fully settle your bill.

We recommend checking your bill amount before the scheduled payment date and updating the payment amount if needed.

What happens if the biller is unavailable or under maintenance?

If the biller is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, your scheduled payment will be temporarily disabled. You will receive a notification, and once the biller is available again, your scheduled payment will be automatically re-enabled and continue as usual.

If the biller is no longer available, your scheduled payment will be disabled, and no future payments will be processed. You will receive a notification informing you of this change.
