What is the difference between the previous and the new Mesra membership tiers?
As part of our efforts to digitalize the Mesra loyalty programme, we have revamped the programme to delight our customers, where they can now enjoy a more rewarding experience. We have simplified the refreshed Mesra membership tiering on Setel to 3 levels – Junior, Explorer & Hero. All Mesra members will get 1x base Mesra point for every 1 litre of fuel purchased. Mesra members that purchase fuel via the Setel App will enjoy up to 3x Mesra points in total. All Mesra members will still get 1x Mesra point for every RM1 spent at Kedai Mesra.
How does the new Mesra membership tiers work?

How do I get to enjoy bonus Mesra points under the Mesra membership tiers?

You are required to register on Setel App or setel.com/mesrarewards. You will only get to enjoy bonus Mesra points under the Mesra membership tiers when you purchase fuel using Setel App. If you have a physical Mesra Card, we encourage you to link it with Setel and transfer all your Mesra points. If you’re an existing Setel user
You will automatically enjoy up to 3x Mesra points when you purchase fuel using Setel App. We encourage you to activate your virtual Mesra Card or link physical Mesra card to redeem exciting deals on Mesra Rewards or redeem your Mesra points to Setel Credit, which can be used to purchase fuel or items from Kedai Mesra.

How do I maintain my current Mesra membership tier?
The Mesra membership tier is determined based on the amount of Mesra points earned for the month through purchases with Setel App. You will level up instantly when you’ve met the minimum requirements for each tier. If you do not meet the minimum requirements of each tier on a monthly basis, you will be downgraded by 1 level in the following month.
Example:
- 10 April 2022: You’ve successfully earned 50 Mesra points. You will enjoy 1.5x Mesra points for every litre of fuel spent under the Junior level.
- 21 April 2022: You’ve successfully earned 270 Mesra points. You will be instantly upgraded to Hero level and enjoy 3x Mesra points for every litre of fuel spent.
- 5 May 2022: You earned 0 Mesra points in the entire month of May. Starting 1st June 2022, you will enjoy 2x Mesra points for every litre of fuel spent under the Explorer level.
The amount of Mesra points collected within the calendar month will determine your level for the following month. To maintain your current level, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of your current level.
I have collected 300 Mesra points this month but I've redeemed all of it for Mesra Rewards. Will I continue to enjoy the Hero level or downgrade in the following month?
Mesra points redemption will not impact your Mesra membership tier. You will continue enjoying the 3x Mesra points under the Hero level as long as you've met the minimum monthly requirements.
I have successfully reached Hero level in April, but I did not collect any Mesra points in May because I was overseas, which level will I be in June?
When you’ve reached the Hero level in April, you will continue to enjoy 3x Mesra points under the Hero level in May. As you did not collect any Mesra points in May, you will only be entitled for 2x Mesra points under the Explorer level in June.
I've only discovered the Mesra membership tiers on the 20th day of the month and only collected 50 Mesra points for the entire month. Can I get an extended 30-day grace period for a chance to earn more Mesra points and level up?
An extended 30-day grace period is not necessary as you will instantly level up as soon as you’ve met the minimum requirements.

How much Mesra points do I get for purchasing with Setel App vs. swiping my physical Mesra Card at PETRONAS stations?
If you purchase with Setel App, you will get:
- Junior Level: 1.5x Mesra points for every litre of fuel purchased.
- Explorer Level: 2x Mesra points for every litre of fuel purchased.
- Hero Level: 3x Mesra points for every liter of fuel purchased.
All Mesra membership tiers: 1x Mesra point for every RM1 spent at the Kedai Mesra
If you choose to swipe your physical Mesra Card instead, you will get:
- 1x points for every litre of fuel purchased.
- 1x points for every RM1 spent at the Kedai Mesra.
How can I reach Hero level?
All Mesra members on Setel App will begin at Junior level. To reach Hero level, you’ll need to earn at least 280 Mesra points per month. To earn Mesra points and level up, just purchase fuel and purchase Kedai Mesra items (Excluding bills, prepaid top-ups and cigarettes) with Setel App.
- Junior Level: 1.5x Mesra points for every litre of fuel purchased
- Explorer Level: 2x Mesra points for every litre of fuel purchased
- Hero Level: 3x Mesra points for every litre of fuel purchased
All Mesra membership tiers: 1x Mesra point for every RM1 spent at the Kedai Mesra. The more you transact with Setel App, the more Mesra points you’ll earn.
How do I know which membership tier I'm in?
You can check your membership tier in Setel App. You can also easily track the amount of Mesra points needed to unlock the next level. Here’s how:
- Just launch the Setel App.
- Click on ‘Rewards’.
- Click on your Junior / Explorer / Hero level to view more details.
I have Mesra points in my physical Mesra Card, which membership tier am I entitled to when I link and transfer all my points to Setel?
All Mesra members on Setel App will begin at Junior level regardless of your Mesra points balance.
Will I also enjoy bonus Mesra points after I've linked my physical Mesra Card with Setel and purchased items from Kedai Mesra with Setel App?
You will only enjoy bonus Mesra points under each membership tier when you use Setel App to fuel at PETRONAS stations.
All Mesra members from Mesra membership tiers will only get 1x Mesra point for every RM1 spent at Kedai Mesra regardless of the payment method.
I have downloaded Setel App, linked my physical Mesra Card to Setel app. I chose to keep my physical Mesra Card and continue to swipe my card when refuelling, am I able to the enjoy bonus Mesra points under the membership tiers?
You will only enjoy bonus Mesra points under each membership tier when you use Setel App to fuel at PETRONAS stations.
If you choose to swipe your physical Mesra Card instead, you will only get 1x points for every litre of fuel purchased.
Can I link more than one (1) Mesra Card with my Setel account?
No, only one (1) Mesra Card can be linked with one (1) Setel account.
What happens to my existing Mesra points when I link my existing physical Mesra card with Setel?
All points collected on your physical card can be transferred to your Setel account. Just link your Mesra Card to Setel App and transfer your Mesra points by selecting the ‘Link Now’ button.
- To view your total Mesra points on Setel App, just click on the ‘Rewards’ tab.
- To view your total Mesra points on setel.com, just log in to your account and your total points will be displayed on the homepage.
Will my Mesra points expire?
Yes, the points validity is 3 years from the transaction date.
Is there any difference between staff and general public points structure?
No, staff and general public will have the same points structure.
